Small Group Ministry:
A Caring and Faith Building Community

What is the purpose of a Small Group?
In small groups, eight to ten members "gather" weekly or monthly to enjoy fellowship, to study scripture, to share their lives, to heal and to pray. These gatherings provide a safe place to "grow" spiritually through listening and participating, encouraging and accepting, and acknowledging God's presence and guidance. Small groups "go" by discerning and encouraging members' leadership abilities and ministries, by doing group service projects, and by being open to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

How do I select a Small Group?
As we get this ministry started, there will only be a few groups to chose from.  Eventually, you will probably want to consider the location of the small group and its meeting time, the type of support it offers (i.e. grief support) or you may want to join a small group where you have a friend or acquaintance. (It is recommended that married couples belong to the same Small Group.)

How do I join?
Call Steve Regnier (Small Group Coordinator) at 970-371-3451 or sregnier at ncwac.com for more information and you will be directed to a small group. A small group leader will contact you with information about his/her group and an invitation to visit. Again, with this ministry just getting started it may take a month or two to fit you with a group.

Once I visit, what's next?
After visiting, you may make a six-week commitment to the group. If it is a good fit, let the small group leader know you plan to stay. However, if the group does not seem right for you, either then or anytime thereafter, talk to the leaders or to Steve Regnier the Small Group Coordinator.

Now that I am part of a Small Group, what can I expect?
Allow yourself time to integrate in the group. As a new member, it may take several weeks or even longer before this group feels like family. Generally, small group members evaluate their commitment to the group annually. You can expect to grow spiritually, to enjoy the fellowship and study, and to find your own ministry.
