“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” (Jame 2:14-17)
Outreach to our community has long been a core value of Trinity Parish. While many of our members serve the community as volunteers with a number of local agencies, there are three significant ministries that we do as a congregation.
- Our Outreach Commission provides food and other assistance to those in need through United Way. In addition to specific requests, each month a group of volunteers prepare over 50 food boxes and deliver them to families in the area.
- The second area is an outreach to those dealing with the trauma of divorce. You can learn more about Divorce ER here.
- Another area of outreach is a low income housing project. Under the leadership of Fr. Norm Middleton, Trinity established Island Grove Village Apartments, administered through the Trinity Housing Corporation. To learn more about this work, click here to visit the ministry’s web site.
