Trinity Youth Group (TYG)

Trinity Youth Group for Middle School and High School

(TYG)

Love God, Love People! That’s what TYG boils down to. Through deep discussion, meditation and general community, we explore our faith and what it means to truly love the way Jesus does.

Sunday Night Discussions
Sunday nights in the school year, TYG meets in the youth room at the church to delve deep into lessons that are relevant to the lives of the youth today; lessons that students have expressed interest in, and lessons that will challenge us, both in what we believe and how we live out our relationship with Jesus.

Mid-Week Coffee Break
Every Wednesday in the school year, TYG meets for coffee at Your Place Coffee (2308 West 17th Street). This is a time to catch up mid-week. The youth can do homework, vent about school, get advice for problems, share exciting stories with one another, make small crafts, bond, and in general, relax.
Middle School: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.; High School: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Retreats and Beyond
Quest
Held in the fall and spring annually, the Episcopal Diocese in Colorado hosts retreats for middle and high school students to mingle with other kids from across the state, explore our beliefs and grow together in faith. These retreats are held at a beautiful camp in the mountains near Buena Vista.

Sabbath Retreat
In January each year the high school group goes to the YMCA of the Rockies to center and refocus our energy on the group and on God.

Revolve Tour
Hosted by Women of Faith, this is an all-girls’ retreat. It’s a chance for the girls in the group to remind ourselves that we are precious in God’s eyes and that we should love ourselves just as God loves us.

Outreach
TYG incorporates learning Servant Leadership by reaching out to the Greeley Community through volunteering and completing service projects with local non profit organizations.

Mission Trip
Each summer the high school group goes on a mission trip. These trips are a chance to put into action what we’ve learned in the school year. We partner with the organization YouthWorks and go out and love on God’s people. The majority of our trips are paid for through fundraising which helps the youth take ownership and responsibility in our trip.

Summer Time
The summer is a great time to joint the group! Our normal meetings (mid-week coffee break and Sunday discussions) are put on hold as we focus more on bonding and community building. We meet once a week for a fun activity. Contact the church office in the summer for the youth leader’s information in order to find out what we will be doing each week. Bring a friend and get ready to have some fun!
